Paul Haggett is currently trying to arrange some training with SARA who are a local river rescue organisation run on a charitable basis.

One thing Paul is trying to gauge interest in is a VHF/DSC course. The course lasts for circa 8 hours with a short multiple choice exam at the end. There is also a continuous assessment that is conducted.
As you can guess it is all geared around distress procedures and safety - probably the exact reasons you want it!
Cost is £85 per person payable to the Charity, and £22 application fee (payable to the RYA) for the certificate.
