Sunday May 30th Surfing Porthcawl

We’ve now made a decision for this weekends surfing and chosen Sunday as the weather looks better.
Low tide is 8:30 and we will be meeting at the usual place in the car park, on the hill by the cafe at Rest Bay for 10:00 would be a good plan. Take some change for the car park. You can turn up later if you wish.

It’s a great beach for surfing and body boarding, kite boarding e.t.c. If you are planning to sit on the beach then there are a few rocky wind breaks but you may want to take your own depending on wind direction.  Remember to bring some sun protection.

If you want to check out the surf forecast then see this link magicseaweed or the regular magicseaweed link on our home page. The reports selection is at the top left of the msw page.
Google map to Rest Bay. You can zoom in and out on this map and switch to aerial photo view which gives a good shot of the car park. Note a top tip for the route is to go down the M50, A40, A449 to Newport to pick up the M4 as it avoids paying that nice big toll on the new bridge and it’s a more pleasant route.

Up early Sunday morning, its raining! well I suppose they did forecast it. We load up all the kit and head off to Leominster but by the time we get there it had stopped raining and was getting warm.Things are starting to look up! We met up with Clive, Graham, Luke, John, Nick and Richard all piling into 3 cars and headed off to the start point. We all off load and all is going well until we go to drop mine and Richards truck back at Leominster.

Sunday 16th May River Lugg.

This Sundays paddle will be kayaks on the River Lugg from Lugg Green to Leominster.  The river level is on the low side which makes it an ideal trip for all of our members. If you would like to come but are unsure of your suitability then please contact Clive or Graham by 3pm (FA final) today (Saturday 15th). It’s a great opportunity to experience an interesting river trip and pick up some new group paddling skills and personal skills on the way.

Please take a look at the July weekend poster below and contact Tina as soon as possible as we will need to confirm bookings. It’s a great place to be located on the River Wye. We stayed there last year and on the first night of our recent 100 mile paddle.
