Repair & Tidy Session – Thank You

This Sunday, 29 July 2012 at  3pm we met at The Riverside Centre to have a repair, fix, tidy and stock check.
We had a great turn out. More than half the people there were new members and their support is very appreciated.
Caroline arranged for refreshments and Andy brought plenty of food as well. A good mini picnic was had to finish.

Paul would like to thank everybody for their help.

Canoe Coaching

Hi all

Many of you will know I am aiming to get my Level 2 Coach award this year.  Its a big task and one of the areas I need to develop is the coaching of canoe based skill.  I need to do about 5 more hours to hit the target so I am sending this to offer beginner’s canoe coaching on the following club nights:
– 16/08
– 30/08
– 06/09
All at Pershore Riverside Centre.
This is beginner to 2 star level and probably mostly tandem (2 in a boat).  Depending on the demand I will cover a range of strokes over the 3 sessions.
So if you are interested could you e-mail me, ,  with the date(s) you would like to do and your experience so far in a canoe.

Thursday Evening Paddle (12 July 2012) 18:30 hrs

A slight change of plan due to the high levels on the Severn. We are looking at zooming along from Diglis to Callow end on the high water. This avoids any awkward access and egress and gives the option of getting on either above or below Diglis depending on the state of the weir.
The trip is 3.3. miles long and we could finish end up at the Bluebell in Callow if anyone fancied a pint afterwards (like I have to ask). The car shuttle is quite straight forward. Route is here …
Meet at Diglis lock for 18:30hrs. We would want to start the ferry by 18:45hrs at the very latest

Congratulations on your 3 Star Canoe

Congratulations to Nick D who passed his 3 Star Canoe assessment this weekend, I hope he will write a report on his experience. Sounds like he had a great time.

Sophie Carries The Olympic Torch

Congratulations Sophie.

Today, Sunday 1st July 2012 Sophie W carried the Olympic Torch over 2 consecutive sections. She did Birmingham Road and School Road, Alcester, Warwickshire (just over the Worcestershire border).
