French Alps Trip 2013 – Maybe!

There has been a bit of interest so it may be worth putting some more details to it.

For those who have not been out there it is very close to paddling heaven! The sun melts the glaciers in the afternoon giving almost guaranteed white water with rivers at whatever grade you fancy paddling. So after a lazy morning mooching around picturesque French towns in stunning surroundings you can then paddle all afternoon before swapping stories in the evening while sipping an endless supply of French wine. You might fancy a gentle float down the grade 2 Durance while looking up at the jaw dropping scenery one afternoon or push yourself on the grade 3, 4 or 5 sections of the Ubaye; there is literally something for everyone.

Climbing Evening Martley – 1st November

Climbing at Martley Wall Thursday 1st November (half term week).
Two sessions at 6.45-7.45pm and 7.45-8.45pm. £6.50 per person, paid in advance.

Doggy Paddle – Thank You from Guide Dogs

Liz received a letter of thanks and a certificate on behalf of the club for the money we raised on this years Doggy Paddle.  A good time had by all.  We should be proud of ourselves as it looks like we raised a quarter of all the total money raised for the entire event.

Cardboard Canoe – Cancelled

It is with regret but Wendy has had to cancel the cardboard canoe challenge on August 12th.
We will try and reschedule or add it to next years plans.
