I paddled with Richard W on friday having an early start on the river at Kerne bridge at about 09.30 with sunshine and blue skies! There wasn’t too much flow with some braking out and setting out practice on our way. when we got near symonds yat rock we stopped for a bit of a lunch break on a gravel bank enjoying the sunshine. As we had a good flow on the corner we were on, we decided to practice some tracking for a bit with great success. We then carried on down to symonds yat rappids ( about 1 ish) where we spent a couple of hours practicing our ferry gliding, brake in/outs, reverse ferry gliding, a bit of setting out and finishing off with some polling. We had a few kayakers come down while we where there which turned out to be Pauline, Sue and Roy getting some extra practice in! We eventually got off the water about 15.30, both having a great day learning a few things along the way.
