WKCC has had a fabulous year – read more about what we have achieved in the past 12 months below:

Club Achievements

Winter Challenge

  • 1,500 miles – 13th in the UK
  • 25 locations – 4th in the UK
  • 59 members of the club participated – most of our club are winter paddlers!

Relaunched and embedded Clubmark

Introduced Litter Pick and started working with Waterside Care and British Canoeing to promote this

Moved into our new extension

Supported the Pershore Riverside Centre – this year more than any other – notably:

  • River Festival
  • Bellboat competition
  • Swimming Club Event

Introduce Stand-Up-Paddle boarding to the club

Introduced Open Water Swimming

Encouraged participation in paddlesport through:

  • Riverside Festival – 300 paid for sessions
  • Two come and try it formal  sessions14 people have become fully paid up members since.
  • The paddle power has generated 6 new members

Introduced Coaching Credits – win / win / win

  • Events supported by coaching credits – on 24 days in 31 slots, covering 17 different events
  • WKCC have provided to PRSYC 4 coaches & 22 assistants
  • Those helpers have logged 350 total coaching credits accrued – which at the 2015/16 conversion rate are worth £2:00 each (£700)
  • These can be claimed against paid-for coaching, membership & kayak kit
  • So far the total claimed  (120.5 / £241)
