Droitwich Virtual Canoe Club are organising a paddle experience session at the new Droitwich Lido between 7-9pm on Thursday 10th July. Various boats will be there for you to try and Paul will be bringing sea kayak(s).This will also be our WKCC Thursday club meeting and you can take your own boat as long as you wash it out to remove all grit and leaves.
Phil Hadely, who is the BCU West Midlands Youth and Paddlesport Development Officer, will be attending if you have any questions for him.

We are thinking of trying out the new Paddle Power awards with some of our younger members. The awards are aimed at under 14’s as a fun way to build up a sound knowledge of water sports. Most of younger members would already qualify for the first award (Paddle Power Start) so we would probably work towards the second award of Paddle Power Passport. This would take approximately eight one hour sessions which we can run over the summer. Those taking part complete a progress card and when this is full receive a certificate and badge. If you are interested in taking part, know somebody who is or would like to help with the coaching please get in touch with Adam or Paul Haggett.

Camping at Pershore Rugby Club, Wyre Piddle, Worcestershire

Activities include:
Friday 4th (Late afternoon/Evening) Pitch at Rugby club, meet in bar, quiz, briefing
Saturday 5th Morning - Avon river trip - from 10am
Afternoon - Water games
Evening - BBQ - bring your own food. Disco / bar
Sunday 6th Paddling, individually arranged (advice form club will be provided)
Tidy up and leave

We have limited kayak and canoe hire available - please email organisers with your requirements on
Rates will be £4 per boat per day (or part day), £2 for WKCC members.

Prices :
-WKCC members - £2.50 per adult per night; £1.25 per child per night 
-Non members - £5.00 per adult per night; £2.50 per child per night
-Non BCU members need to also pay £1.50 insurance costs for the weekend

Pershore Rugby Club is 3/4 along Church Street. Please be considerate when driving through Wyre Piddle village as the local residents support us with access to the river to allow this event to take place.
Note you cannot enter Wyre village from the Evesham end of the A44 as you will be traffic camera photographed and fined so take care.  The Google Map and directions available here allow you to zoom in and out and switch to aerial view and drag the centre of the map around to find the parts you wish to see in detail. If anyone needs to collect kit and to avoid the limited parking at Fladbury then we will be at the Pershore Riverside Centre at about 18:20 on Thursday with an intention to be away just after 18:30. We can then share transport and do a ferry at the end as parking in Fladbury is limited.  Hope to see you there.
