The blond guide to kayaking
or
The Lugg, a dead sheep, a dead swan and two capsizes!
It was a beautiful start to the day with lots of sunshine on the journey to Leominster with Paul C. We met Graham, Clive, Steve and Frizz Ease at 10 am and after all the usual getting ready and ferry [this time Graham did remember to bring his spray deck!] we got on the water at about 11. … read more?
Sunday 4th will be a kayak paddle. Lugg Green to Leominster based on who responded to comms.
Meet Leominster car park by fire station at 10:00. There is likely to be portaging due to high levels.
It may be a bit nippy so take a hot drink and snacks (doesn’t apply to me).
Surf report for Sunday is pants but it’s very good conditions for tomorrow (Saturday). The current situation is that Ben Brown (quartermaster) is going on Saturday and I may be joining him. If anyone else is wishes to go then contact Ben (number on programme).
We are also planning to do something on Sunday. We will have to monitor water levels on some of these sections as they wash out and are not worth visiting. Can I ask you to reply to me and Clive by early Saturday afternoon so we can make final plans.
These are all open to Kayaks and Canoes.

For the second winter in a row, Caroline arranged a mainly open canoe paddle from Arley to Bewdley on the Severn although a few people kayaked.

It is with great sadness that we make the announcement that Paul Donohue passed away on Saturday 6th March.
Paul had been an active member of WKCC for some 10 years and has been proactive in his involvement with the club. Participating in numerous river trips both local and further afield.
Paul had also been working within the BCU coaching scheme and had reached his Level 2 coach award.
The funeral will take place at Worcester Crematorium on Monday 29th March at 11:00 a.m. and then afterwards at The Swan Inn, Newland, Malvern.
All are welcome to the funeral and Paul’s wife Sian has asked that no black ties are worn, flowers to be family only and donations to be made to The Air Ambulance Service.
In the very near future we will arrange a tribute paddle, a further announcement will follow.
We had a good time on Sunday afternoon at Wyre. Jordan paddled Clives Robson Red Fred, Clive paddled Ed’s Liquid Logic and I paddled my own little boat. Nick G, Nick D and Richard B all paddled open canoes.
The level was good and weather was great and a good time was had by all. Please see the YouTube videos in the links section and the photos below.
