Yesterday we had a great paddle, starting out at Iron bridge, the birthplace of the Industrial Revolution, going down to Bridgenorth. There were 7 of us Gareth Cr,Clive Pearson,Carlos Segura,Jacqui John,Simon Cosson, Paul Craven and myself. 2 in canoes 🛶 and the others in kayak.
It was a little chilly to start, but the sun kept making an appearance to brighten up the morning. After the shuttle was done we’re on the water for 10:20 a.m and on our way. It wasn’t long before we came to the magnificent lron Bridge which the town was named after.
Time for a quick group photo before carrying on towards Jack Field Rapids. Here a couple of people went straight through while others had fun surfing on a couple of the waves. Clive managed to catch the big wave in the middle and surf it in his canoe. It’s fair to say he was very chuffed with himself! Gareth was loving surfing some of the waves also in his new boat.
It wasn’t long before we were off again, practising some ferry gliding across more waves further down the river. We found a great beach area to stop and have lunch and a chat about our progress so far. Then we were back on the water, a quick play and more ferry gliding practice to be had along the way and breaking in and out.
Soon we came to Bridge North all having thoroughly enjoyed our time on the water.
Thank you to Gareth for organising the trip and providing some great coaching and tips along the way.
